Does Wing Chun have a belt system like other Martial Arts?

First and foremost, we don’t call belt but rather “Sash” due to Wing Chun Kung Fu is a Chinese Martial Arts and Sash System is varied from schools to schools depending on the style, system, or founder’s envision.

Wing Chun Temple is based on Sash System with a total of 9 Sashes as to 3 Major Levels of Advancements per 3 Sashes Divisions. Please see below for guidelines:

Can anyone learn Wing Chun?

Anyone, regardless of her or his age and physical capabilities, can learn Wing Chun. As of self-defense, one can learn and use instantly due to Wing Chun’s practicalities of simple moves. However, as to be a true Wing Chun practitioner, one can take at least 6 months to a year or maybe a life time of pursuing the art’s mystery and spiritual aspects.

How is Wing Chun different than other Martial Arts?

Unlike any other martial arts, Wing Chun is unique and considered to be a spiritual martial arts for many reasons:

-Wing Chun is the only martial arts that was invented by a woman who was a nun.

-Wing Chun is not using force to force but rather using natural forces and using the law of physics.

-Wing Chun uses controls of your opponents rather than destroying your opponents.

There are many other reasons but these are the main three reasons that makes Wing Chun unlike any other martial arts styles or systems.
